"I’ve always announced Fool’s Paradise to be a song about futility when I perform it live. It is. It is also about love. It is also about doubt, hope, pausing to reflect.

I wrote this song in 2020 when foolishness felt easy to access; the futility of all our hard work as humans was quickly rising to the surface of the collective conscious. Narratives we held about ourselves & each other, compounded with loneliness & confinement, brought us an exposé of our darkness, a shadow the Collective had well suppressed for decades. We could not avert our eyes anymore.
The foolishness of uncertainty; searching for answers, finding more questions.
I hope you embraced the discomfort; continue to. It creates the conditions for growth. And when discomfort finds you, I hope you do not wish for the guise of nostalgia to return you to a day of ignorance. May you love better." - ML
